In 2002 Dogtopia was create by Amy Nichols and Mike in Virginia. As dog lovers they had an idea to open a dog daycare offering not just simple daycare, but a dog spa and boarding services. It was the first offering of this kind in the pet industry. In 2005 they got into the franchise business and became the fastest pet franchise. With more than 190 locations in Canada and United States today, Dogtopia has become the most well-known premium dog care in North America.
After the pandemic in 2020, the pet industry has been seen an increase in the sales and the industry became very attractive for investors. The grooming sector has grown 6.8% over past 5 years.
